I am new to Wikipedia, but have several decades of research in Cherokee history and genealogy. I am an archivist employed by the National Archives and Records Service (NARA) in Washington,DC, and a registered citizen of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma. I have recently written a Wikipedia article about the Lucy Walker steamboat disaster of 1844. I have modified or addded information for several Wikipedia articles about this tribe, including one on the Cherokee Removal.
