The Sociopath Next Door: The Ruthless Versus the Rest of Us is a 2005 book by psychologist Martha Stout. Stout, a former instructor at the Harvard Medical School, details the way that sociopaths have--and continue to--influence society and individuals. The Sociopath Next Door received enthusiastic reviews from Kirkus Reviews, Library Journal and BookBrowse. It received a mixed review from Publishers Weekly.
