Manikpara, a small but beautiful village town in Jhargram Sub-Division under Paschim Midnapore District in West Bengal. From the British Period the place is so popular for its Education, Small Industry and Railway route.Reputed Industry areas, like Kharagpur, Jamshedpur are near by of Manikpara. The Railway Station (named Sardiha) is 103 KM from Jamshedpur(Tatanagar in Jharkhand) and 17KM from Khragpur, and only 8 KM from Kalaikunda (AirForce Station of India).

Geographically it is lie very near of both Orissa and Jharkhand State Border. By road and By Rail, both the state is very much achievable from Manikpara.

Manikpara High School is one of the Best and reputed High School(Estd. 1940) in the district itself. Manikpara Vivekananda Satabarshiky Mahavidyalaya is very standard College, providing Higher Education to the Students of Manikpara as well as the surrounding village's students.

Manikpara has Multi-beded Hospital, Panchayat Office, Police Station, Standard schools for Nursery-Primary to Junior High school Education.
