Juan Filloy was an Argentinian Writer (1 August 1894, Córdoba - July 15, 2000). He mastered seven languages, and was a boxer and a judge. He lived and spent most of his life in Rio Cuarto, south of Córdoba, since he did not like Buenos Aires.
He received various distinctions during his lifetime and was nominated for the Nobel Prize.
He wrote 55 novels, many of which were entitled with words of seven letters: "Caterva," "¡Estafen!," "Aquende," "La Purga," "Metopas," "Periplo," "Sexamor," "Tal Cual" and "Zodíaco" among others. He was also a master of palindromes, writing over 6,000.
He was friends with famous authors Julio Cortazar and Jorge Luis Borges and also with Sigmund Freud.
He died of natural causes shortly before his 106 birthday, while sleeping. He used say he wanted to live in three centuries.
His burial place is found in "Cementerio San Jerónimo" in Córdoba, Argentina.
