No, it's not. You can call a neighborhood anything you want, so I left the discussion of the immediate Irving Park-Damen-Lincoln area (referred to in the article as "Northcenter"; I am not sure of local practice) but if you are referring to the Chicago Community Area of North Center, which is the topic of the article, the nomenclature is decided by the City of Chicago Department of Planning and Development, following guidelines established by the University of Chicago about 90 years ago. 71.194.38.54 (talk) 09:35, 3 November 2009 (UTC)Larry Siegel, Department of Geography (graduated 1971), University of Chicago[reply]
