Erdem Tüzün was born in 1971 in Istanbul, Turkey. He is a physician with expertise in neurology and is currently working in University of Istanbul, Turkey. In neurology, his research interests are autoimmune diseases of peripheral nerve and neuromuscular junction (particularly myasthenia gravis and neuromyotonia) and paraneoplastic disorders. His major contributions are demonstration of antibodies against voltage-gated potassium channels and N-methyl D-aspartate receptors in limbic encephalitis patients, application of F tacheodispersion method for early diagnosis of diabetic polyneuropathy and immunopathogenesis of myasthenia gravis.
