Piran Coastal Galleries
History and Program
Coastal Galleries Piran, in Slovenian: Obalne galerije Piran, in Italian: Gallerie Costiere Pirano, are a group of six public contemporary art galleries. The first ones were established in 1975. Three galleries are located in Piran, two in Koper and one in Venice.

The galleries work as a Center/Museum of Contemporary Art on Slovenian Coast. They promote Slovenian as well as international contemporary artists. They own a rich art collection. Work as a publishing house, publishing numerous art catalogues of exhibitions. A library. They as well organizes numerous annual art events as:
- Ex-Tempore Piran (International Painting and Ceramic Competition),
- Piranski dnevi arhitekture (Architectural days of Piran) and Nagrada Piranesi (Piranesi Prise),
- Multimedijska delavnica (Multimedia Workshop) GENIUS LOCI LERA
- Mednarodni kiparski simpozij Forma viva Portorož (International Sculpture Symposium)
As well as other educational events, workshops and lectures.
