Keefus Ciancia aka. Keefus Green(Born November 6th, 1972) is an American born musician, composer, producer, and performer, across a wide range of musical genres. His parents moved from New York City to Evergreen Colorado when Keefus was born. Raised playing classical music, he was influenced by his 2 older brothers to get into the more raw sounds of R&B, Punk, Hardcore, Rap, progressive, experimental, psychedelic and Jazz....After moving to Los Angeles in 1991, he linked up with Lonnie "Meganut" Marshall who came from the Los Angeles underground scene with the likes of Fishbone and The Red Hot Chilli Peppers. He and Lonnie started the multi genre experimental funk group Weapon Of Choice which went on for 3 albums and 7 years of touring....Towards the end Keefus met Singer Jade Vincent of which lead to there own 10 piece experimental film noir big band.... The Jade Vincent Experiment..Upon cutting there first record the band performed on a local radio show in Los Angeles which TBone Burnett heard and immediately contacted Keefus and Jade...From there Ciancia's relationship began with Burnett as a session musician , eventially becoming a co-producer on a few Tbone projects such as The Coen Brothers Film The Ladykillers...and Cassandra Wilson's "Thunderbird".... Ciancia and Vincent went on to put out another record under Mike Patton's label Ipecac records.. the self-titled album Vincent & Mr. Green ...From ther Ciancia went on to produce the critically acclaimed Benji Hughes double record "A Love Extreme"...and next Everlast's "Love War and the Ghost Of Whitey Ford"....In 2009 Keefus performed in Germany with Iggy Pop, Marc Ribot, and Tine Kindermann. Shortly after Germany Ciancia worked with producer Chris Bruce on MeShell Ndegeocello's 2009 release "Devils Halo" , and has recently finished scoring a film for The Brothers Dowdle(Quarantine") titled "The Poughkipsee Tapes" and is currently preparing for the release of the next Vincent & Mr. Green album titled "Smash Up"...
