Who in the hell am I? Can you recognise me?

I was previously a graduate student in South Asian Studies, on my way to becoming a professor of Indian History dealing mainly with my speciality in Gurkhas, Rajputs and Sikhs and their respective Royal families. Decided instead, of chasing my first passion, Medicine, so that I could fulfill my lifelong dream of traveling and helping the underprivileged in areas which do not have access to Medical care.

So I decided on a career change and pursued Medicine. Presently a Medical researcher/doctor and working with NGOs to provide Medical relief to remote places in the Uttaranchal regions of Northern India's Himalayan foothills.

What have I done?

In 2003, I was a Medical Doctor and Medical Relief Coordinator for the Medical Relief Program on behalf of the Himalayan Institute and Kanvashram. I was working with the communities in the Tehri Garhwal, UA, India regions located in the foothills of the Himalayas.

I still give guest lectures on Hinduism, Gurkhas, Rajputs, Sikhs and the present role of the Monarchy in Nepal.

I have given formal lectures and presentations on several topics such as Rajputs, Gurkhas, Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism, the Hare Krishna Movement and the Royal Families of North India and Nepal at the University of Toronto.

I have given performances and demonstrations of traditional Rajput Martial Arts at the Festival of India from 1995-1998.

What do I belong to?

I am a member of the Divine Life Society, Sivananda Ashram, Rishikesh, UA, India.

I am a cousin to many of the Royal houses of North India, most importantly Nepal (Hindu Rajput), Nabha (Sikh Jat), Patiala (Sikh Jat), Kangra (Hindu Rajput), Bhutan (Buddhist), Bijawar (Hindu Rajput), Masuri (Hindu Rajput) and Mewar(Hindu Rajput).

I am the great grandson of HRH Crown Prince General Dhwaj Narsingh Rana of Kaski/Lambjung Nepal who was the biological son of Sri Teen Maharaja Ranodip Singh Rana of Nepal. So that makes me one of the Rana children descended from the House of Gurkha and Mewar (Udaipur).

I am a Sigma Chi, former Pro-Consul at the Beta Omega Chapter.

At present where am I going?

At present I am organizing the next medical relief camp for remote locations in Uttaranchal, India, at the foothills of the Himalayas for 2006.

Do I believe that Humanity is the only true Religion?

I have been featured in the book: Nomaskar, a Personal Journey through the Spirituality of Mother Teresa, ISBN: 0-9699133-6-2
