Kate Lindsey

Kate Lindsey (born 1970, South Bend, Indiana) is a mezzo-soprano opera singer from the United States.

Lindsey, a recent graduate of the Metropolitan Opera’s Lindemann Young Artist Development Program, has sung the role of Cherubino in Mozart’s Nozze di Figaro at the Met, and returns to the company this season for Mozart’s Zauberflöte, Dvorák’s Rusalka, and Wagner’s Ring des Nibelungen. At the Met, Lindsey has also been seen in Massenet’s Manon, Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette and Faust, and Verdi’s Don Carlos. Recent engagements include Cherubino at the Lille Opera and for her debut with the Boston Lyric Opera, and a concert performance of Ravel’s Enfant et les sortilèges with the New York Philharmonic. As a member of Opera Theatre of Saint Louis’s Young Artist program, Lindsey performed as Stéphano in Roméo et Juliette, Rosina in Rossini’s Barbiere di Siviglia, and Mercédès in Bizet’s Carmen. At Wolf Trap Opera she sang Lazuli in Chabrier’s Étoile and Angelina in Rossini’s Cenerentola, and she recently made her debut with the Tanglewood Music Festival in Berlioz’s Troyens. Upcoming engagements include Zerlina in Mozart’s Don Giovanni at Santa Fe.
