In contrast to a two-dimensional chart of nuclides this is a one-dimensional list of nuclides. This table of nuclides holds for each observed nuclide — precisely: each experimentally examined bound proton and neutron set with observed decay mode and measured half-life for artificially produced nuclides — one row containing some specific data of the nuclide. Here this table is presented sorted by decreasing half-life of the corresponding nuclides.
Introduction
In reality so called Stable nuclides may be instable due to very long half-lifes and thus a radioactive decay was not experimentally observed until today. 257 nuclides are classified as "stable" (no decay experimentally observed). Therefore these nuclides for which no half-life is known, are sorted by theoretically expected decay-mode and then by relative mass excess (column energy in the table of nuclides below). Of course, this list must start with the primordial nuclides (up to and including 244Pu at position 288). It contains for each nuclide one entry indicating the known isomere which longest half-life.
Legend
no
A running positive integer for reference. Especially for nuclides with short half-lifes its number, i.e. position in this table, might be changed in the future.
nuclide column
nuclides identifiers are given by their mass number A and the symbol for the corresponding chemical element (implies a unique proton number). In the rare case this is not the ground state, this is indicated by a m for metastable appended to the mass number.
energy column
The column labeled "energy" denotes the mass of the average nucleon of this nuclide relative to the mass of a neutron (so all nuclides gets a positive value) in MeV, formally: mn - mnuclide / A.
half-life column
All times are given in seconds (3.15576 · 107 sec = 1 year).
Entries starting with a > indicates that only lower limits for the half-life were established.
Decay modes in parentheses are still not experimentally observed but predicted to occur.
decay energy column
Multiple values for (maximal) decay energy are mapped to decay modes in their order.
