Sarah Thomas is a [College Football]] [referee] who became the first woman to officiate a [Bowl Game] when she umpired the 2009 Little Caesars Bowl between Marshall and the University of Ohio.

During the 2009 season, she was one of five female referees in major college football. However, she was the only one of those woman chosen to work a bowl game. In 2007, she became the first woman to officiate a major college football game.
