Everton

Following recommendation by Willie McStay to former teammate and Everton manager David Moyes, Coleman was signed by the Merseyside club for £60,000 in January 2009, ahead of other interest from Ipswich Town, Birmingham City and Celtic.[4] Before playing a game for Everton, Coleman had to undergo surgery on a career threatening blister.[5] He made his debut in the Europa League in a 5–0 loss to Benfica[6] In his home debut, a Premier League match against Tottenham Hotspur, Coleman was named Man of the Match after coming on as a first half substitute for the injured Joseph Yobo. He played an instrumental part for both of Everton's goals in a 2–2 draw.[7] Coleman also made his FA Cup debut for Everton against Carlisle on the 2nd of January 2010 and created a goal for Tim Cahill after only minute's on the pitch.

Coleman is an Ireland under 21 and U23 international, having made his debut for the former against Sweden in 2008.[8][9]

His most recent cap was in a 1-1 draw against Georgia in Tbilisi in November 2009 [1].
