Liar, Liar is a 1993 made for television movie, starring Vanessa King as a girl who accuses her father (Art Hindle) of molestation but no one in her family believes her.
Plot
One day at school 11 year old Kelly Farrow (Vanessa King) hears a story from a fellow classmate who's relative accused a family member of molestation and heard how he went to jail, sometime later after being "spanked" by her dad Kelly vows to make him pay, the next day she tells her teacher about being abused and accuses her father Gil (Art Hindle) of molesting her. Kelly speaks with authorites and they arrange to have her father arrested and when her family learns of the accusation they don't believes her, with the exception of her very young brother Patrick, the authorities take action, and her mother (Rosemary Dunsmore) and sisters (Ashleigh Aston Moore, Janne Mortil) doubt her given Kelly's history of lying and bullying.
People believe that Kelly is lying because her father is very admant in his punishments with spanking and yelling, as when he witness Kelly seemingly flirting with a classmate, and he forces her to sit on the floor in the car, when he's driving home, and when she locked her brother in the bathroom even though she knows he's afraid of being locked in there and her punishment is to go into the bathroom with her father to be whipped.
Kelly seems to not be telling the whole story and when a newspaper article leaks that the incest victim is still a virgin, she tries harder to get people to believe her. When her older sister Chrissy sees an interaction of in the bathroom it brings back all the memories she had repressed as a child and believes Kelly who tells her that she knew what their dad did to her, and it's revealed why younger brother Patrick is afraid to be locked in the bathroom that he too had been molested by the dad.
In court Chrissy defends her sister, by telling the court room her own abuse, and the judge apologizes to Kelly stating that just because she's a child doesn't make her a liar, and that the judge wants full investgation into Patrick and Chrissy allegations. While Kelly's mother and younger sister are shocked and in disbelief at the situation, Kelly walks out with Chrissy and Patrick proud she was finally believed.
