Biography

Music career

Born John-Peter Hasson, Hasson grew up in Indianola, Washington. In the early 1990s, at the age of 15, Hasson began creating and composing improvised comedy songs in his parent's garage under the name Pleaseeasaur. After a chance meeting with his musical idols, Philadelphia based satirical punk group The Dead Milkmen, Hasson began collaborating with the band's guitarist/singer Joe Genaro and eventually co-created a self-released full-length album during the summer of 1994 under the band name We're Not From Idaho. Upon it's completion, Hasson returned home to Washington State to finish his final year of high school before moving to Philadelphia in 1995 to become the full-time bass player of The Dead Milkmen side-project Touch Me Zoo.

Just prior to the disbanding of Touch Me Zoo, Hasson moved back to Seattle, Washington in 1997 to once again pursue his Pleaseeasaur and other projects. In 1999, Hasson collaborated with Ben Blankenship and Ben Shepherd of Soundgarden to compose the original score to the vampire film "Cold Hearts".[1] Also in 1999 Pleaseeasaur began touring consistently. By teaming up for various worldwide tours with the likes of enigmatic guitarist Buckethead, anti-comedian Neil Hamburger, indie-rockers Pinback and many more, Pleaseeasaur slowly developed a cult-following. In 2006 Comedy Central released what was essentially a greatest hits CD/DVD titled "The Amazing Adventures of Pleaseeasaur"[2] featuring music videos directed by artist TH3 and a cartoon adventure, animated by the team from the Adult Swim series' Sealab 2021 and Frisky Dingo. In December 2006, Hasson collaborated with electronic act Plastiq Phantom under the name American Sheriff. Their debut release Long Arm of the Law was released by imputor? Records. In 2008, Hasson composed the theme song to the Adult Swim show The Xtacles for The Cartoon Network.[3] After 12 years of touring and 7 official releases under the name Pleaseeasaur, Hasson began touring and recording under the name JP Incorporated in 2009. After signing a new contract with Comedy Central in 2009, Hasson worked closely with co-producer Rob Crow of the band Pinback to record a collection of 24 fake TV theme songs titled "An Album of Distinction" in both Los Angeles and San Diego.[4][5] "An Album of Distinction" was officially released in August 2009 by Comedy Central and features cameo appearances by many of Hasson's close friends; Joe Genaro and Rodney Linderman of The Dead Milkmen, Gregg Turkington, Rob Crow and many more. In November 2009, JP Incorporated toured in the United States and Canada as the opening act for the legendary band Devo. [6][7]

JP Hasson is currently touring worldwide as JP Incorporated and is writing two books about Major League Baseball.[8]
