This college, located in Sedalia, Missouri, was attended by the famed and prolific American ragtime-music piano composer Scott Joplin famous for the song "Maple Leaf Rag" (per Wikipedia and other sources). Per the Encyclopedia of the History of Missouri by Howard Conrad, the building was completed in 1882. Per the Wikipedia entry for Sedalia as of Jan 30 2010, The college operated from 1894 until it burned down April 26, 1925.
