Body Slam is a 1987 film directed by Hal Needham.

Dirk Benedict stars as M. Harry Smilac, a down-on-his-luck music manager who is having a hard time attracting talent and booking gigs for his band, Kicks.

When making arrangements for a campaign fund-raiser, he mistakes pro wrestler Rick Roberts, played by Roddy Piper, for a musician and hires him. Having zero luck as a music manager, Smilac decides to stick with his hunch about Roberts and become a pro wrestling manager, booking matches for Roberts and his teammate Tonga Tom (Sam Fatu).

The team is a success but politics come into play and hated wrestling manager Captain Lou Murano (Lou Albano) blackballs Harry and his wrestlers from every major arena in the country after injuring them in a nationally televised bout.

When recovering from their injuries, Harry decides to take his wrestlers and his band on a cross country "Rock n' Wrestling" road tour. The tour is a huge success inspiring Harry, Roberts and Tonga to gear up for one more match against Murano and his tag-team championship team The Cannibals (Sione Vailahi and Tom Cassett).

Playmate Tanya Roberts co-stars as Smilac's love interest, while Charles Nelson Reilly appears as a pro wrestling talk show host. Professional wrestlers Afa Anoai, Sika Anoai, Ric Flair, Freddie Blassie, Adnan Al-Kaissie, Bruno Sammartino and Alexis Smirnoff appear in cameos.
