Kenny Page

Kenny Page was born in Stirling, Scotland, on April 13th 1955. He was the youngest member of the family with an older brother and 2 sisters. When his mother and father seperated the family moved to the Bellahouston area in Glasgow, his mother died when he was 15 years old. Kenny attended a primary school in Ibrox and later Bellahouston Academy. It was during this period that Kenny visited Radio Clyde in Glasgow, he was so impressed by what he saw he decided to become a radio presenter.

After Kenny left school he joined the BBC and became a clerk before returing to his native Glasgow to work for Radio Clyde in 1974 presenting a show called 'Ken's Corner'. He stayed with Clyde until 1976 before moving to the Mediterranean to join Radio Caroline's sister ship Mi Amigo only to move, just 1 year later, to the Voice of Peace where he became the Head of Music.

In 1980 Kenny returned to Scotland to set up a new radio station in Dundee, Radio Tay, acting as the station's first Head of Music and well as presenting the drivetime show 'Heading Home' He also presented an early evening rock show, regularly inviting his listeners to join him, after the show had finished, for a beer a Dundee pub called 'Foreigners'.

Kenny was widely considered a gifted broadcaster, once heralded as Dundee's answer to Kenny Everett - a shock jock with a devilish sense of humour.

Kenny stayed with Radio Tay until 1987 before returning to work for the Voice of Peace where he stayed until the ship went off air in 1993.

In January of 1995, Kenny returned to Radio Tay which was split, in the same year, into two frequencies: AM and FM. Kenny became the first presenter of the FM drivetime show.

He stayed with Radio Tay FM until August 1997 when he left to join Radio Nappa in Cyprus for 3 months before returning to the the UK to Virgin Radio where he frequently appeared as a comedy character.

Kenny returned to Dundee in the summer of 1998 to join a new radio station, Kingdom FM, where he became the first presenter of the drivetime show 'Overdrive'.

Kenny left Kingdom FM in late 1999 due to illness. He died on 31 July 2002.
