Fluff?

Someone at the IP address 99.169.250.133 removed large portions of the football and band sections of this article without posting any warning or beginning any debate on this talk page. It seems to me that the user deleted the text only because he considered the information "fluff" and therefore unworthy of being in the article. My standpoint is this: No one is getting hurt by anything in this article, so why not have as much information as possible? The text removed was not biased; it was a description of the past seasons of the band and football team. Perhaps the older seasons, 2000-2005 or so, should be compiled into one shorter section, but the information should not simply be deleted without warning. Leave the information here for the people who want it. If you don't want it, you don't have to read it. Simple as that. Mellophonius (talk) 23:46, 8 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I disagree. The editor provided a valid reason for the deletion. Your contention that "there's no such thing as too much information" is equally valid. But when looking at the project's standards and conventional norms, this article was unreasonably long for its subject matter. Breaking down football and band seasons of a local high school team, is unreasonable, and much of the information contaiend therein was trivial. Many policies and guidelines of this project are in place to deal with trivial information such as drum majors, or season records. If you believe notable information was deleted, then merge that information into the body of the article or subsections. SpartanSWAT10 (talk) 07:03, 10 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
