Västgötska is a götamål spoken primarily in Västergötland.

Features of the västgötskan

Västgötska is a dialect spoken in western Sweden. It can also be divided in Göteborgian and skaraborgska. The dialect is characterized much of the fact that it skips the last letter (usually-r or-s) and that it is based on the Ö and U sounds. Dialect also means in some cases to make l to r as the "chair" (stolen) becomes "stor'n". Additionally, there is a contraction of-dk-creating the ch-sound, as in the name of the town Lidköping, which is pronounced Lichöping of the Visigoths. Some areas change g to k. Me can also be mech. Dialect also adds extensions for various nouns in the plural that is different from the national Swedish.
