Background and History

St. Johns Vestry Anglo Higher Secondary School is one of the prestigious school in Trichy, other being the Campion Higher Secondary School and the Convent Higher Secondary School. It is missioned by the Church of South India.

It is one of the oldest school in Tamil Nadu and it is rich in Anlo Indian tradition dating back from two to three centuries. It was established by the British around 1763 and it first served as an orphanage home to children of British solidires, but later it eventually started providing education thus establishing itself as a school. First when the school started it covered only a small space of land at the current location, but now the campus have got seperate buildings for year 1 to year 8 (Junior and Sub Junior block) and year 9 to year 12 (Senior and Super Senior block) at seperate locations with in the campus. Even the school has montessori facilities in a seperate building and its located near the front entrance of the school.

St. Johns Vestry Anglo Higher Secondary School also have boarding facilities for students from distant places.

School carries out various events and the most celebrated ones are the Sports day and the Annual day. Students are encouraged to take part in vaious competition at inter school level and State level.
