Dizzy (novel)

Dizzy is a teen based novel following the a 12 year old girl called Dizzy and her desire to get to know her long lost mother, Storm.

Characters

Dizzy

Is a twelve year old girl from Birmingham. She is described as average hight and weight with long mousey hair that she ties up to avoid it being frizzy. She is shy, funny and kind. Dizzy begins a relationship with Finn whilst they are staying at his house. She is the step sister of Mouse. Dizzy during the book learns to play the guitar. She has a "shrine" to her mother containing all the things Storm ever sent her, which she takes down at the end of the book.

Finn

Finn is fourteen he travels to festivals with his mother Tess in his school holidays. Finn is described as having tan skin dark dreadlocks and "beautiful" green eyes. He plays the piano, guitar and sings. He starts a relationship with Dizzy towards the end of the book. He never wears shoes, which causes his feet to be burnt when he runs into the bonfire to save Mouse. It is suggested that Finn and Dizzy keep in regular contact after the books end.

Mouse

Mouse is the seven year old son of Zac. he has mousey hair and tan skin. he is usually found with Leggit. Mouse has a stuffed toy mouse which he gives to Dizzy at the end of the book stating he has no use for it. Mouse has a facination with fire that has been strongly discouraged by Dizzy and Finn. He often gets in trouble with Storm and Zac because he has a habit of stealing. Mouse went to live with Zac a few weeks prior to the books start after his mother went to rehab.

Storm

Storm, born Linda Caroline Kerr, is Dizzy's mother who has been absent from her life since she was four, she regains contact with her on Dizzy's twelth birthday. Storm has a shaved head and multiple pearcings. She owns a "rackity" patchwork van and a teepee. She is a vegan, a diet that she regularly breaks. At the end of the book Storm relocates to Goa, India with Zac to open a healing center.
