Dr. Jayakumar R. Menon was born on 17th January, 1960. His ambition was to pursue a career in medicine and consequently in 1982, he graduated from T.D. Medical College, Alappuzha. He completed his P.G. diploma course in Otolaryngology from Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram in 1986. A Masters Degree in Otolaryngology from Medical College, Kottayam (1991) and FRCS in Otolaryngology from Royal College of Surgeons Glasgow (1997) followed. He became a Diplomat of the National Board in Otolaryngology in 1991.

An in depth and first hand understanding came from the training programmes that he attended in various hospitals abroad: • Training in Otolaryngology at Beaumont Hospital (Dublin) • Mater Hospital (Dublin) • Temple Street Hospital for Children (Dublin) • Our Ladies Hospital for Sick Children (Crumlin) and • Royal Victoria Hospital & South Infirmary (Cork) under the registrar training scheme of Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland 1997-1998

While in Mater Hospital and Temple Street Hospital, he worked with the renowned laryngologist Mr.John D.Russell and gained experience in the field of Laryngology & Phonosurgery.

At present Dr. Jayakumar R.Menon is working in the ENT Department of KIMS Hospital, Trivandrum.
