MARKABA...مركبا(markaba.webs.com) Region  : Nabatyeh Municipality  : Marjayoun. Markaba is geographically located south of Raabatt Tallame, East of Banni Hayyan and North east of Tallussah and 850 M larges. Resources : Neighboring Countries : The closest Israeli village to Markabe is Migav ‘am. Climate : It is about 600 meters above sea level and thus is dry in the summers and wet in the winter. The average temperature can dip below 0 ˚ C in the winter months of December, January and February. During the spring the weather is temperate and mild. The summer is dry and can reach about 35 ˚ C during the day. Most of the rain fall, which is about 10 to 16 inches is in the winter months and spring. History : Population : The recent population is about 3.250 persons who are living in the village , the maximum population of the village is about 10.000 persons especially during the holiday or summer season. Ethnic groups : Lebanese. Religion : Almost all of the villagers are Moslem shiite There are 3 mosques in the town and one Hussainiyah , for religious purposes. The first Mosque at the eastern part of the town is in good condition , the second mosque at the center of the town that the condition is damaged during the last war but by now is under reconstruction 100 % finish, The last one at the western part of the village that is in the good condition. ECONOMIC. Industry : There are no major industries in town Resources : Depend on the agricultural , bussiness and money transfer from overseas. Power : Government electricity supply and village’s generators. Agriculture : Most of the locals plant Olive, Wheat and Tobacco. Income  : Most of the income comes from the agricultural and the transferred money from some of this village’s residents who have overseas job or in the Lebanon big city job as well. Wealth  : In general the wealth of the locals is quite low because lack of employment available in the village. Labor : Lack of the skillful technicians and bricklayers in the area, some people from out side village came Markabe to become worker building. Transportation : A few of public transportations that are seen in the area, commonly the public transportations those take students from their home to the school daily and some taxi which are operated from Marjayoun. WATER: Locations : There are no rivers that run in the town Facilities : There is only water from wazzani spring that is pumped through pipe line to the village’s water storage.
