The Graduate School of Digital Content and Animation will initial in 2006 and research areas will distribute to visual communication, industrial design, art craft, information visual communication, interactive multimedia design and animation. In the first year, we will look forward 15 postgraduate students to join us.

Nowadays, the Taiwanese Government is giving fresh impetus to several important developing projects, and the “digital content” is one of key points. Intended for establishing the superiority and the leader position of creative digital design and producing in Asia, Taiwan will need to breed up more professions in this new filed and make this new industry oving and continuing.

Graduate School Mission

  • The Graduate School of Digital Content and Animation aims to be recognized nationally and internationally as inspiring innovation, intellectual rigour and professional readiness in our graduates.
  • Engaging with government relevant polices, and guide students into the advanced boundaries of Digital Content, Consumer Industrial Design, Visual Communication, and Animation (Commercial/ Experimental) such areas.
  • Introducing the higher technological skills to students in animation courses, and also to encourage our students to invent different types of animation in the commercial, entertainment or artistic aspects.
  • To provide postsecondary education that prepares students for their careers in such as Creative Art Director and Design Management.

Course Features

  • Our postgraduate degree can be taken as programs of research with a mix of written and design exegeses at Masters level.
  • We offer postgraduate courses in Visual Communication & Industrial Design and Multimedia Content. The Visual Communication & Industrial Design includes visual communication, Consumer and Industrial design areas. Moreover, the Multimedia Content also can divide into digital multimedia design, mass media design and animation.
  • The postgraduate course offered by this graduate school has a major commitment to cross-disciplinary studies with electives available from a broad range of offerings across the University and exchange programs established with universities around the world for one year. Each year we will offer 5 students to be part of this exchange program.

Graduates & careers

Students who completed a course from this Graduate School can either to work as full time designers after graduation or go on to complete further study, or start their own business.

There are many opportunities in the relevant Doctoral programs for further study, such as the Doctor of Philosophy, Doctor of Creative Arts, or Doctor of Animation…etc. both in Taiwan and overseas. Or our graduates could work as professions, for instance, the Illustrators, Advertising designers, Packaging designers, Display designers, Industrial designers, Webpage designers, User Interface designer, 2D/3D Animation designers, Multimedia designers and Design managements.

Future Goals

We will continue to recruit all of excellent academics from the domestic or foreign countries, intend to form the most profession teaching team for our students. We also try to cooperate with International universities to obtain the outstanding quality of education opportunities for our students.

To construct the superior quality learning environment of design, and establish a remarkable achievement with the relevant industries, the government and other academic divisions.

We encourage the cross-disciplinary studies with electives available from a broad range of offerings across the University and exchange programs around the world.

The Graduate School actively engages with the professional and industry groups of its disciplines through research, collaborative projects and continuing intellectual exchange.
