shankarpur is villages of the Saharsa district in the Indian state of Bihar in North-East India, and is in the Kosi Division. shankarpur contains a number of tolas and occasionally called shankarpur.in the middle of villege a maa DURGA temple and nath baba,baba mateshwar temple .it belongs in KATHON Panchayat.PIN CODE IS 852106.ONLY 'RAJPUT' belongs in this villages.

The origin of the name shankarpur is not known but it is said that when nath baba (earlier inhabitant of this village came to this place, it was quiet peaceful, so this name.

shankarpur is part of Simri Bakhtiarpur Block. shankarpuris located in among balwahat,kathon,chupraon.

shankarpur and its surrounding areas are a flat alluvial plain forming part of the Kosi river basin. This makes the land very fertile.

Flooding is a major reason for the poor connectivity of the area as bridges tend to get washed away. Biggest flood came in 1984 which caused significant loss of life and property. Contents UR"S
