Every Second In Between is the fifth album by American singer/songwriter Lili Añel.

Album Notes

Every Second In Between was recorded at MorningStar Studios in Springhouse, PA between July of 2008 and July 2009. It was produced by four-time Grammy winner, Glenn Barratt and released September 30, 2009 on Wall-I Records, which is Lili Añel’s own label and not affiliated with any of the major record companies. Despite the CD not having the financial backing of a major record label, it was well received by the local and national media with the help of publicity firm, Randex Communications.Lili wanted this CD to be better than her 2007 release “Dream Again”, which was essentially a home recording, co-produced with her then bassist, Cooke Harvey. She needed the expertise of an experienced producer and wanted the recording to be made in a real studio. In Exclusive Magazine Lili talked about why she wanted to work with producer, Glenn Barratt: "I knew I wanted to work with Glenn when I heard a recording he’d produced at the end of the night in a club where I was playing. It was really noisy, but I could still hear the song and the singer, clear as a bell cutting through. I wanted to work with someone who had sensibilities with vocalists. This is something my prior recordings were lacking, missed the mark on. Glenn is a professional in every sense of the word. He knows what he’s doing. He included me in every step of the process, he was always calm. There were never raised voices at any of the sessions." Lili set out to accomplish her greatest recording yet and with Glenn Barratt hit the mark. The CD received much more press than its two prior releases. [ http://jazztimes.com/articles/25590 Ken Flanckling’s]review in JazzTimes stated:“Once in a great while, a CD arrives out of the blue with no fanfare and proceeds to blow your mind at first listen. For me, Every Second in Between is one of those rarities.” In the September 14, 2009 issue of USA Today, music critic, Steve Jones listed the single “Supposed To Be,” as one of the 10 intriguing tunes of the week. In The December 30, 2009 issue of All About Jazz “Every Second In Between” was listed as one of the top 10 best new Jazz releases of 2009 In addition, not only did NPR stations like WXPN, WDIY, and mainstream station WSTW air songs from the CD, Lili was featured March 26, 2009 on Philadelphia’s premier Jazz and Classical station, WRTI . The show was hosted by the award winning J.Michael Harrison. On his program The Bridge, a total of 5 songs from Lili’s CD were played during the course of a full-length interview. Lili’s promotion for the CD also garnered two TV appearances on NBC The 10! Show. The first was in September 16, 2009 and again February 8, 2010. Word about this recording continues to spread through many of Lili’s live performances and support from radio stations and the press.
