Personal information
Full name Diogo Manuel Bebiano Cepeda David de Andrade
Position(s) Midfielder

Diogo Andrade (born Lisbon, Portugal, 23 July 1985) is a football player. He made all his football youth formation at Belenenses, being caped for Portugal U16, U17, U18 and U19, 14 times. He played three matches on the European U17 Finals in Denmark 2002.

Diogo Andrade plays in midfield, on either wing but preferably on the right side.

In his youth, he was considered to be better than Cristiano Ronaldo, his colleague from the Portuguese national team (2). However, a conflict with Belenenses, his club at that time, restricted his evolution and made it impossible for him to sign for a bigger Portuguese club, even though Benfica was chasing him.

In his first professional season (2004/05), the young winger moved to England after impressing on trial with AFC Bournemouth. He was a sensation in pre-season friendly matches where his pace, tricks and catching performances awarded him a short term contract with the Cherries, but he was unable to adjust to the English game quickly enough to compete for a place in the side. He did however get to wear the A.F.C. Bournemouth shirt in the Carling Cup, in Bournemouth's famous giant killing of former Premiership Champions Blackburn Rovers. He moved on loan to Conference side Dorchester Town in October to learn more about the English game. He put in several memorable performances for the Magpies, making a total of 20 appearances for the Dorset side (including Cup games), scoring 4 times and claiming 11 assists, but did not re-sign for the Dean Court team.

In 2005/06 he joined the French league 2 club Laval, but with relegation at the end of the season, he decided to leave.

After spells in England and France, Diogo Andrade returned to his native Portugal to play in the second division, joining Portimonense S.C. a team from the Algarve (2006/07).[1]

In January 2007, he signed a three year deal with Romanian first league club UTA Arad, coached by Marius Lacatus, playing the spring season in Romania, but unfortunately an injury kept him off the pitch for a long period. In 2008 Andrade, was loaned to Bulgaria first league club Vihren Sandanski. He returned to Arad, but due to the club's internal problems could not resolve his contract before July 2009. Andrade joined Farul Constanţa from Romanian Liga II on 20 October 2009.
