Daliburgh (Template:Lang-gd) is situated one and a half miles inland from Lochboisdale and has the second biggest population on South Uist. Like Lochboisdale, Daliburgh has undergone major changes in recent years. The hospital, built in 1894, was closed in 2000 and replaced by a facility in Benbecula. The old hospital has been converted into an elderly care centre, keeping the original building intact within the new building. There is a new office development made available by Western Isles Enterprise and awaiting tenants.
Daliburgh is well-known for its annual summer music school, Ceòlas, which runs for one week every July in the local school and includes classes for both adults and children. Ceòlas also run youth music classes throughout the year, and has an office in a small building adjacent to the school itself.
Facilities available in Daliburgh are the Post Office, the Co-op supermarket, Borrodale Hotel (public internet access available) and Scottish Hydro Electric shop. Also there is Daliburgh School (which has an independent nursery/after school club next door) and the community centre (which has a fitness suite available). There are St. Peters Roman Catholic church and a Church of Scotland in Daliburgh.
