Music

RedRoots play ska influenced pop music citing Desmond Dekker, Bob Marley as influences.

RedRoots won the Xfm Uploaded Radio Chart Competition in July 2008[9] which gained their track 'More and More' significant exposure through Xfm DJ Steve Harris's Xfm show and exposed the band to a large audience. As winners of the competition, the band were selected to open the 2008 Wakestock festival[10].

The subsequent performance was embraced by Wakestock's extreme sports fans due to the energy of the band live and their charismatic performance with the audience enthralled by the unusual image of the band combining the 'pasty long haired rocker', Sam Neild with, Nicodemus Flower's "Fun to watch" 5 string bass antics[11].

Their performance was well received and the band were invited to play Animal Windfest[12].

Regularly touring with Pete Doherty and his band Babyshambles, they have become a staple feature of his London tours and live shows and have even been known to steal the show from more well known acts such as Babyshambles. During, one performance, bassist Nicodemus Flower performed while "hung upside down by his knees from the lighting bar"[13].

In April 2009, the band played alongside Pete Doherty and The Paddingtons, in rememberance of music promoter Johnny 'Rhythm' Seddassy at thr Rhythm Factory[14] with all proceeds going to the Sir Michael Sobell Charity.

Until December 2009, Bassist Nicodemus Flower was also a member of Fuzzy Logic and both bands often share influences. Front-man Terry Sphinx is rumoured to be related to Fuzzy Logic front man Darwood Grace and have been known to collaborate with Darwood even performing on stage with RedRoots[15]
