Waterscape

Waterscape was set up in the summer of 2003 and is British Waterways^[1] leisure website, supported by the Environment Agency and the Broads Authority^[2] as an official information and leisure resource for inland waterways within the UK.

Waterscape is an information resource and leisure guide for all of the canals, rivers and waterways^[3] throughout England^[4], Scotland^[5] and Wales^[6] with references to boating, fishing, holidays^[7], walking^[8], cycling^[9], volunteering, pubs and restaurants^[10].

Waterscape also provides information and advice on:

How to hire a boat or cottage along the canals and rivers
Local area information including visitor attractions, history and the local wildlife^[11]
Boat Licensing and Fishing Licensing^[12]
Canal curising rings
Cycle and Walking Routes^[13]
Public fishing areas

As part of a marketing campaign in 2008, Waterscape launched the viral game The Crazy Duck^[14] in December. The game was set up to teach people about the facts and history of the waterways within the UK.
