The Dailyer Nebraskan, established in 2008, is a satirical newspaper produced biweekly during the fall and spring semester at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. The paper was started by Carson Vaughan and the current Editor-in-Chief is Jacob Zlomke.
The paper has a circulation of 10,000 making it the largest satirical newspaper produced in the state of Nebraska.
The paper contains fake news stories ranging from local issues to national issues. It also contains a serious entertainment section much like the satirical paper The Onion.
The paper's mission is to "become the only paper with the balls to openly mock Tom Osborne".
The newspaper also has a website that receives an average of 5,000 unique hits per month. [1]
Controversy
As a satirical newspaper the paper has received numerous complaints. One such complaint came in an early article that contained Mohammad and Jesus fighting for scripture sales. The Muslim student organization of UNL was not happy about the article and complained. [2]
