Tom Blenkinsop is the current MP & Labour Party representative for theMiddlesbrough South & Cleveland East constituency. This is after previous Labour representative and MP, Ashok Kumar's death. Blenkinsop secured his seat with a small majority over Paul Bristow, the Conservative representative in the Middlesbrough South & Cleveland East area.

He was born in the Middlesbrough South & East Cleveland area having been brought up in Marton. His main policies include supporting the Public services, Teeside's steel industry & SureStart Centres.
