Introduction

Pokémon Ranger is an RPG game for the Nintendo DS, set to be released in Japan in 2006. It will be compatible with Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. The game is set on an island, where the player controls a ranger. Rangers are older than the trainers of the conventional RPGs, and more about what a ranger actually does is expected to be revealed closer to the game's release.

Information regarding Pokémon Ranger was first published in July 2005's issue of CoroCoro Comic Magazine. Though as expected, vague details were told (mostly hinting it was a game and a movie). The "official" Pokémon Ranger announcement came on as a short teaser at the end of the 8th Pokémon movie. Beyond it being a game and a movie, little information is known.

According to the January2006 CoroCoro Comic Magazine, the release date for Japanese version will be 23rd of March 2006, and a few more characters were introduced:[1] 1. A professor 2. A senior Ranger (Her Japanese name is Aria) 3. A town leader 4. A city leader (His Japanese name is Jou) 5. Two "mysterious wierd spectacled" characters, a male and a female.

Merchandise

A game watch has been manfactured in the theme of Pokemon Ranger. The watch is designed to look like the Navi of Pokemon Rangers for capturing Pokemon. [2]
