Beth Mburu-Bowie

Beth Mburu-Bowie also known as HowAboutBeth (born March 1986) is an English singer, songwriter, musician, activist, and trustee.


Career

Mburu-Bowie has had a varied career as a musician, composer and and arts administrator. Performing with The Heavy, Pink Floyd, Matthew Herbert, Chuck Berry, English National Opera, Eric Lau, Super Nashwan, Does It Offend You, Yeah? , Madness, Royal Opera House and most recently, the Pipettes [1].

In February 2010 it was revealed through their new material that Beth was no longer part of the Pipettes. After her departure from the band, Mburu-Bowie has pursued a solo career [2]

Mburu-Bowie is also a trustee of the legendary Roundhouse venue in Camden famous for hosting the performances of Bob Dylan Jeff Beck, David Bowie, Patti Smith, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Incredible String Band, The Doors, and The Clash.

Solo work

In May 2010 Beth announced via MySpace that she will be revealing new demos under the moniker HowAboutBeth every two weeks throughout the months of June and July. [3].
