John Strong is an American sports radio talk show host on Portland's 95.5-FM "The Game" in Portland, Oregon. He hosts a daily radio show called "Strong at Night." He also is the KXTG play-by-play announcer for the Portland Timbers USL soccer team.[1]

Career

John Strong began his broadcasting career while in high school at Lake Oswego High School, where he founded Laker Broadcasting [2]. Strong created audio broadcasts of LOHS football and basketball games beginning in 2002.

While attending University of Oregon, Strong worked at 750 KXL in Portland and was active at the school's campus station, KWVA. Strong continued his play-by-play work by broadcasting University of Oregon womans soccer [3], softball [4] and womans lacrosse.

Strong has been a producer for John Canzano's daily radio show "The Bald Face Truth" since KXTG was created in 2008. Strong currently hosts a daily evening radio show called "Strong at night" on Portland's 95.5 FM "The Game".

In 2010, Strong appeared on FSN Northwest as a play-by-play announcer for the Portland Timbers game against AC St. Louis[5].

Trivia

Strong has been known as "Strong-a-pedia" on air for his extensive sports knowledge, especially relating to soccer. [6]
