The Gambit

Anssi Hannu Mikael Lähteenoja (born July 25, 1982 in Turku, Finland), better known by his stage name The Gambit and nickname rattler, is a rap music artist and producer from Finland. He has a Masters degree in Economics & Business Administration. The Gambit owns a label called QGL – Queen Gambit Laboratoires. He is also the marketing director of Twisted Films; a production company specialized in animation, film and motion graphics. The Gambit's beats and remixes have featured music artists such as Deams, De La Soul, Ice-T, Psycho Les of The Beatnuts and opera singer Marika Krook.

The Gambit earned his moniker “rattler” in Florida by mixing Finnish language in his freestyles. The Gambit debuted in 2005 with his independently released single, Move Gambit / Cos My Clique Is, which reached #9 in the Finland singles chart. Snake Styles, his lead single and music video released off his debut solo album titled Rosary, rotated on Music Television’s prime time in 2008. Third album single and music video, 5-0 (Don’t Stop), also received rotation and featured Pepsi as a sponsor. The song was offered as a free download on Pepsi's site. The Gambit’s second studio album, Rosary II, is set to be released early 2011.
