Festival Miami is an annual music festival held at the University of Miami Frost School of Music during the month of October. Founded in 1984 by Dean William "Bill" Hipp, Festival Miami was known as the International Festival of the Americas. The following year, the fledgling festival was renamed to Festival Miami. Festival Miami provides South Florida with diverse musical programming ranging from Latin to jazz to classical to creative American music.^[1]
