NPOV tag

Much of the wording of the 'New Perspectives' section could be improved. As it stands, much of it is not npov from one end or the other. For example...

The new atheists insist that many of the religious or supernatural claims...

Insist, here, implies that there is debate and evidence that their position is wrong, yet they continue to ascribe to it anyway. Claim, write, maintain, etc, are all acceptable alternatives which don't imply anything about the veracity of the position being discussed. Unfortunately, I don't have time now to go through the article and correct these errors, but I've placed a npov template at the top in hopes someone else will. I took a further run through the page, although it still needs more work. In my opinion, by the way, "claims" can itself have a POV, implying that the claim might not be true. --Tryptofish (talk) 19:24, 13 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

In this case 'claim' is intended to mean there is a possibility it might not be true and each of the New Atheists would agree with that sentiment. That is also why 'insists' is incorrect as none of the 'new atheists' quoted in the article insist that it is true. Instead, they claim that it is the most logical conclusion and like any such assertion could be incorrect. JohnnyDogooder (talk) 16:11, 20 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

As far as I can tell, the so-called "new atheists" don't describe themselves as such, it being a pejorative term used against them, so this article needs a rewrite to stop referring to them as such. 91.110.187.62 (talk) 23:50, 21 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'd have to look for a source in which a "new atheist" used that phrase themselves, but my impression has been that the phrase is, in itself, pretty much neutral and descriptive, and it only is loaded when used by those who have chosen to use it pejoratively. --Tryptofish (talk) 00:33, 22 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Krishnadas Kaviraja Goswami described in Chaitanya-charitamrita Adi 6.38:

‘chaitanya-mangala’ shune yadi pashandi, yavana

seha maha-vaishnava haya tatakshana

If even a great atheist hears Shri Chaitanya-mangala (previous name for Shri Chaitanya-bhagavata), he immediately becomes a great devotee.

So all the great atheists which comprise of 99.99% of the world’s population can become maha-vaishnavas if they get the supreme good fortune of reading this book. Thus in my personal opinion, when this book is published and distributed in mass quantities all over the world, it will break open the gates of the flood of the love of Godhead brought by Lord Chaitanya and His associates and will hasten the advent of the predicted Golden Age in all its glory.
