The State of Jefferson band has emerged as one of the great West Coast live music experiences. The S.O.J. sound is organic Jam based, Reggae, Americana and World Music rhythms; mixed with a multi-instrumental blend of horns, strings, and much more. This band is for everyone, they leave audiences wanting more & more.

This group is an embasedor and representitave of the modern day ideals found in many communities within the State of Jefferson, such as localism, agrarian practices, and sustainable community developement projects.

A signifigant example of their stewardship to the community would be their ongoing community developement projects within Josephine County, Oregon.[1][2]

This group is entertaining the muses and inspiring the masses as they blossom out of the heartland of the famed State of Jefferson statehood movement in Southern Oregon and Northern California. The bands stellar live performance coupled with their unique, energetic, and carefree personalities, creates a bond with swirling seas of dancing believers near and far, leaving them awestruck and hopeful for the future in a world seemingly strife with struggles and hardships.

State of Jefferson's diverse catalog seamlessly and psychedelically weaves together many genres, melding together Reggae, Funk, Hip Hop, Jazz, and Bluegrass with heavy overtones of Jam based music.

The band has performed with many artists including Messenjah Selah, Joe Craven, Maacho, The Herbivores, Marko, and Alcyon Massive and shared the stage with many great, national and international acts such as Sly and Robbie, John Trudell, The Toys, Prezident Brown, Yellowman, Midnight, Abyssinians, Culture, Pato Banton, Jah Levi, Zilla, Blue Turtle Seduction, Tea Leaf Green, and the list goes on.
