The Southern Ridges comprises 9 km of green, open spaces spanning the hills of Mount Faber Park, Telok Blangah Hill Park and Kent Ridge Park. It is an area rich in history and is home to some of nature's greatest gifts of flora and fauna. It is also one of the best spots in Singapore to catch panoramic views of the city, harbour and the Southern Islands.

The main highlights of the Southern Ridges are the Forest Walk and Canopy Walk - bridges cutting through the Adinandra Belukar, a distinct type of secondary forest. Here, you can see a rich variety of flora and fauna. You can also observe birds in their natural habitats. One can observe all these while walking on the Ridges and taking beautiful photos of wild flowers and birds.

The Southern Ridges is ideal for walking enthusiasts, history lovers, photography buffs, nature lovers, bird watchers, families and friends.

Do dress comfortably and wear walking shoes. Bring a hat, sunscreen lotion, water, insect repellant, binoculars and camera

Guided tours:

1) Southern Ridges Nature Tour ($8/pax, at least 15 to sign up, 1 guide to max 20 pax)

This tour takes you through the Southern Ridges, a soothing sanctuary of greenery that is rich in history and is home to some of nature's greatest gifts of flora and fauna. Highlights of the tour include the Henderson Waves, Sembcorp Forest of Giants, Forest Walk, Singing Forest, Alexandra Arch and Floral Walk.

2) HortPark Garden Tour ($4/pax, at least 15 to sign up, 1 guide to max 30 pax)

Take a leisure stroll around HortPark, Singapore�s one and only one-stop gardening hub. Learn all about interesting plants and gardening ideas as we take you through the various Theme Gardens and Display Plots.

3) Kent Ridge Park Heritage Tour

Participants will be guided through the forest to learn about interesting fauna and flora, while learning all about the fiercest battle fought during the World War II.

Getting to Marang Trail:

By MRT: alight at Harbourfront station Exit D By Bus: take bus service number 10, 30, 57, 61, 65, 80, 93, 97, 100, 131, 143, 145, 161, 300, 408, 646 or 855 alight at bus stop in front of Seah Im Food Center at Telok Blangah Road

By Car: Carpark is available at Seah Im Food Center

Getting to Henderson Waves:

By Bus: take bus service number 131, 145, 176, 409 or 648 alight at bus stop along Henderson Road, take the staircase up to Mount Faber Park.

By Car: Parking is available at Mount Faber Carpark D (17 lots) and Telok Blangah Hill Park Carpark 1 (17 lots) & Carpark 2 (total 39 lots). Parking is available at SAFRA Mount Faber (210 lots) at 2 Telok Blangah Way.

Getting to Forest Walk:

By Bus: take bus service number 51, 61, 93, 97, 100, 166 or 963 and alight at bus stop along Alexandra Road (junction of Hyderabab Road)

By Car: Parking is available at HortPark-the gardening hub (155 lots) or Telok Blangah Hill Park Carpark 2 (39 lots) & Carpark 3 (8 lots)

Getting to Canopy Walk:

By Bus: alight at Alexandra Road (junction of Hyderabad Road), a 25mins walk via HortPark-the gardening hub

By Car: Parking is available at Kent Ridge Park Carpark B (Vigilante Drive, 47 lots); Carpark C (25 lots) at Pepys Road
