Talk:Governor of New York
Appearance
how much does he make?
Governors before 1777
This article states:
- The office of Governor was established by the first New York State Constitution in 1777 to coincide with the calendar year.
And the article George Clinton (vice president) similarly states:
- He was the first Governor of New York....
However, the article Province of New York#Politics and Government states that in colonial times,
- The governor of New York was royally appointed.
So maybe this article should clarify that it refers to the governors only since 1777, and the George Clinton article should call him "the first Governor of the post-colonial State of New York". Any objections? — Lawrence King (talk) 02:44, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
