Excel is the annual technical-management festival of Model Engineering College. The event is held over a period of three days and is conducted in association with the IEEE Student Branch of the college.[3] This festival has science, technology and management based competitions, lectures, demonstrations and workshops lined up on all the three days. This fest is completely organized by the students of the college and provides a platform where college students can compete and showcase their technical skills and management capabilities
This fest has been held every year since its inception in 2001[3]. Each year's Excel is named with its year as a suffix. So the very first Excel was called Excel 2K1 and the latest edition, Excel 2K11, was the 10th edition. The tenth edition, due September 2009, is called Excel X, X denoting the Roman numeral X.
It has been held as an All India Annual Technical Fest since its beginning in 2001. Aimed at inspiring innovation and technical interest among students and awareness among the public, the event has played host to various lectures, seminars, workshops, competitions, paper presentations, exhibitions, quizzes, model displays and robotics events in the previous editions.
Excel 2K8 was held from 31 January to 2 February 2008 [4] Excel 2K9 was held from 23 January to 25 January 2009. [5]
Excel 2K10 to be held from 26 september to 30 September.

The Great MEC race begins - with the BOTs. A raucous race is all set for robotic enthusiasts and clever engineers with unyielding drive to create a champion among champions. Get Set And GO! Join the high speed pursuit and take racing to a new level! Be ready to be thrilled in an adrenaline-pumped challenging race! For the fastest will take the loot away! Create the Swiftest line tracer! But all you can do is look on and cheer your robo, as it uses its limited intelligence to make you proud. Come, witness and be a part of the race between robots. The objective is to ensure that your autonomous robot churns out the fastest lap time along the circuit, but the catch is, never once should it get off the track. So, engineer the fastest bot and be the winner. So, remember to stay on the line and never go astray.

A competition for those with nerves of steel. Who'll defuse the bomb first and save MEC?
MEC is under a ‘bomb’ threat!!!
Not literally, of course, but, are you skillful enough to ‘save’ MEC from the virtual bomb ?? Your team has only 90 minutes to work around the circuitry and de-fuse the trigger.
One of the most popular events in Excel X makes a comeback in this edition…More challenging than ever, but equally fun…So put your heads together and analyze the circuit to rescue us all!!!
Totla Prize Money : Rs 7000 Robo Wars

Survival of the fittest. Let the war begin! It is cruel, it is big and it’s between the machines! You could be forgiven for thinking that the machines you'll see here are from outer space or from the depths of hell .They are wild, weird and wacky creations of skilful roboteers from all around the country. Equipped with the fiercest weaponry, they contend with each other. Only the most fearless fighting machines survive. It’s a game of survival – Survival of the Fittest!! Design a robot which is capable of driving through different surfaces irregular, slippery, sandy, etc, collecting the flags and driving the opponent's robot out of arena either by pushing, dragging, lifting and throwing, or making them immobile by any means within the specified time. Use your gladiator-style tactics to flip 'em over and clear off the track! Hit the dojo; May your robo have enough brute mojo to emerge victorious on the other side.
