Silhouette Showgirls is a progressive rock band from Chippenham, Wiltshire

History

Silhouette Showgirls is a new age progressive rock band formed in Chippenham, Wiltshire. The Band is made up of Daniel Gibb (vocals), Matthew Coombs (Lead Guitar), Matthew Green (Guitar), Ben Whelan (Bass Guitar), and Joel Harding (Drums). The band formed summer 2008 began to to gig a variety of pubs and small music venues throughout the West Country. The band received a glowing review from the Evening post after their first live performance at the Fleece and Firkin, Bristol in 2008. The band continued write and perform at some of the most reputable venues in Bristol and Swindon including The Louisiana, The Cooler, 12 bar and The Vic. Under the guile of former manager Nick Allen, Silhouette Showgirls made their London debut at the Bull and Gate, Kentish Town.

A turbulent 2009 seen Silhouette Showgirls part with their original Bass player James Joyce and manager Nick Allen, ultimately quashing the bands impressive start. The arrival of Ben Whelan (Bass guitar) gave fresh hope to Silhouette Showgirls as they started to mastermind some of their most impressive pieces of material in Broken Shadows, Time to Fight & Burning up the Son. After dedicating an initial 3 months period to writing new material Silhouette Showgirls began to gig once more and were invited to headlining shows in London at the likes of the Dublin Castle, Camden & Hope and Anchor Islington, Winter 2009.

A rejuvenated 2010 has seen Silhouette Showgirls performing at some of London's elitist music venues, in Cafe De Paris (Piccadilly Circus) , Hackney Empire (Hackney Central), & ThePurple Turtle (Camden). In addition to invitational showcase performances at "The Sound Of Excellence" PROUD galleries (Camden) & " Sound Of Excellence Awards Ceremony" SKALA (Kings Cross). Silhouette Showgirls also performed at the 02 arena in the Final of the National Live and Unsigned Competition 2010.

Silhouette Showgirls are to release their first Single " Living Fever" in October 2010 and their debut EP late November 2010.
