Dear Reader is a four-piece indie/folk/pop band from Johannesburg, South Africa. Members are singer-songwriter-pianist Cherilyn Macneil, Darryl Torr (bass, electronics) and Michael Wright (drums, vocals). Dear Reader are currently signed to City Slang whilst their debut album "The Younger" was released by Just Music in August 2006, and the band were showcased at SXSW 2007 in Texas. The video for their song "Ode to Confusion" was play-listed on MTV and VH1 in Europe. Originally named Harris Tweed they adopted the name Dear Reader after the Scottish cloth company Harris Tweed complained about their name.
