Nick Diaz is a mixed martial arts fighter from Stockton, California. He holds a profesional record of 11 wins and 5 losses. He is a student of Cesar Gracie, a member of the famous Gracie family that helped bring Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to the forefront of Martial Arts in the United States. He achieved an enormous upset victory at UFC 47 when he defeated Robbie Lawler by keeping the fight standing despite Lawler's reputation for knockout power. Diaz faced Diego Sanchez in the Ultimate Fighter 2 Finale promotion put on by the UFC. Despite a loss, Diaz showed tremendous heart and talent. At UFC 57, he lost to Joe Riggs via unanimous decision, though, it should be noted that after the fight in the octagon Joe Riggs and Nick Diaz got into an argument over who really won the fight, and Nick Diaz sucker punched Joe Riggs knocking him out cold. This post-fight brawl took place at a hospital.
