Renée Perry is a fictional character created by television producer and screenwriter Marc Cherry for the ABC television series Desperate Housewives. She is portrayed by Vanessa Williams.

Season 7

Renée Perry is Lynette Scavo's former college friend and sorority sister. Renée is described a housewife who has become disenchanted with her humdrum lifestyle. In the Season 7 opening, Renée visits Lynette and takes a liking to Wisteria Lane - eventually move in. It is rumored that she is separated from her husband, Doug, and will compete with Bree to attract the attentions of Keith Watson, a handsome contractor.

The season 7 premiere has Renée arriving on the Lane, talking about her life as a rich athlete's wife. She and Lynette banter but it soon turns hurtful with Renée basically asking why Lynette has let herself be tied down to a suburban life. The other girls and Tom are stunned when Renée shares how Lynette had a threesome with the stars of the college rugby team. Lynette decides to throw Renée out and tell her off, but Renée confesses that she's getting a divorce. She had discovered Doug was having an affair with his agent's assistant and when Renée said he had to choose, he chose his mistress. Renée left without any of her cash or jewels and went to Lynette hoping to remember their friendship. Taking pity, Lynette tells Renée she can stay.
