Sapphire Elia

Sapphire Chrystalla Elia (born 15 April 1987 in England), is a British actress and singer with Greek Cypriot heritage. She is best-known for her former role as Claudine Cameron on the British musical/drama series Britannia High.

Career

A child model, she attended the renowned Sylvia Young Theatre School in London for 7 years from 1997-2003. She then went on to study Theatre and Film Studies for 2 Years, and also dated Britannia High co-star Matthew James Thomas for a short time during school. Since starring in Britannia High the pair have decided to date again.

She began her acting career in 2006, when she starred in Dream Team as the club managers daughter Gemma Craig. It was then that her acting career took off. She featured in 2 episodes of The Bill as Polly Dewar in 2007. She also appeared as Kerry in Comedy Showcase: Plus One.

Elia was cast in Trevor Nunn's 1997 theatre production of Les Miserables as a young Cosette at the Palace Theatre in the West End.

In May 2009, Sapphire took part in the Soccer Six match with celebrities like N Dubz and JLS

Sapphire is to star as Snow White in the 2009-2010 Christmas panto at The Richmond Theatre.

It was announced on September 30th 2010 that Sapphire would be joining the cast of Emmerdale in the role of Mia Macey, the daughter of Declan Macey. The Macey family are set to become the soap's newest 'dynasty' family to take over the Home Farm estate, a centrepiece of the show, to fill the void left by the departing Wylde family. ^[1]
