The 2010 Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders football team will represent Middle Tennessee State University in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) college football for the 2010 season. Middle Tennessee competes as a member of the Sun Belt Conference. The team is led by head coach Rick Stockstill. The Blue Raiders play their home games at Johnny "Red" Floyd Stadium.

In January 2010, 4-year defensive coordinator, Manny Diaz, left Middle Tennessee and accepted the defensive coordinator job at Mississippi State. Weeks later, Wisconsin assistant Randall McCray was hired to lead the defense [1].

In February 2010, offense coordinator Tony Franklin left Middle Tennessee to accept the vacant position of offensive coordinator at Louisiana Tech [2]. On March 3, Mike Schultz, former TCU and Illinois offensive coordinator, was hired to coach the Blue Raider offense [3].

The 2010 schedule will feature an opener hosting Minnesota on Tuesday, September 2, 2010. This game will mark the first Big Ten opponent to visit the Blue Raiders. Minnesota will be the 4th BCS opponent (Virginia in 2007, Maryland in 2008, and Mississippi State in 2009) to visit Middle Tennessee at Johnny "Red" Floyd Stadium. The game will be followed by an in-state rivalry game against former conference foe and FCS member Austin Peay. The Blue Raiders will return to Memphis, and travel to Georgia Tech for the two school's first ever meeting.
