ForceSelect is a recruitment consultancy, mentoring service and charitable Foundation aimed at supporting military service leavers and small military charities across the UK.[1] It aims to raise funds to support smaller military charities that are struggling for funds.[1]
It was founded in 2009 by former Army captain Hugh Andrée.[2]
All recruitment staff are ex-services and partner organisations include British Gas, Sainsbury's and UPS and it was named one of the brightest new organisations of 2010 by a business survey. [3]
The Ministry of Defence has given its support to ForceSelect, recognising the work it does to support military service leavers who are looking for a new career on civvy street.[4] Template:This is on the bottom of every page of their website
Other directors include former chief of the general staff General Sir Mike Jackson, bestselling author Andy McNab and former Royal Artillery officer Lucy Wood.[5]
ForceSelect founder Hugh Andrée grilled UK Chancellor George Osborne on October 6 2010 at the Conservative Party Conference about the need to support military service leavers in the UK. [6]
Head of the Trustees is General Sir Mike Jackson, [7], while other Trustees include Dame Kelly Holmes [8], Rebekah Brooks.[citation needed] Sir John Rose[citation needed] and Stephen Morris.[9]
The ForceSelect Foundation gets its income from a percentage of the profits from the ForceSelect recruitment business as well as a wide range of fundraising activities, such as a collaboration with Lionsgate films for the UK premiere of The Expendables in August 2010.[10]
Military charities across the UK are invited to apply for grants which are awarded by the Board of trustees twice a year.[11]
